ShesConnected Founders Message

I have been blogging and using social media sites for women for a few years now and my friends had to listen to me complain from time to time about how difficult it was to manage both the personal and professional sides of my life. So, I thought, wouldn’t it be great if there was a place where I could create two profiles but only I knew the two were connected? What I meant by this is a location where you could view my professional profile, but you wouldn’t be able to link to my personal profile—unless I wanted you to.

I searched the web and learned that there wasn’t a site on the web that would allow me to do this, so I figured why not me? I also thought about how I could provide busy women like me with easy access to a community of women and the best tools the web had to offer. I came up with ShesConnected, a site for busy women like me.

The women on our site wear many different hats –sometimes at the same time. They are mothers, wives, business owners, employees, grandmothers, daughters, friends and members of this online community along with you.

We’ve heard from them that ShesConnected has allowed them to connect, share ideas, and seek advice and support about everything from careers to parenting and all from one place. A place that finally understands that women often separate their personal and professional lives but are too busy to use mulitple sites to manage the two sides of their life!

I feel so lucky to be helping women manage and improve their lives. I could not be more excited about all the possibilities for ShesConnected. I really do want to hear your feedback. My team and I have so many plans for ShesConnected we can’t wait to share them all.

When Donna Marie approached me with her vision for ShesConnected, I knew it was a revolutionary idea-that there should be a social networking website specifically for women that enable them to manage their busy lives. Growing up with a single mother, I saw how she struggled to raise me and my sisters on her own, worrying about how she'd pay the bills and provide for us. Now as a husband and father of two girls, I recognize that women who are juggling kids, work, hectic lives, gain strength and confidence by connecting with other women.

ShesConnected aims to empower women by enabling them to draw on the tremendous gifts, talents and resources of our growing membership. It is the one place online where women can go to find the tools tips and resources to manage both their personal and professional lives. Our members frequently convene to share ideas, get advice from leading experts, or access tools that help them manage their lives on the go.

Thanks to fantastic women like you, ShesConnected continues to grow in both size and stature. It has been a truly remarkable journey so far-I am encouraged by the stories of how ShesConnected has supported women in these challenging times and how it is making their lives more meaningful.
